Meet the teacher

Hi, I'm Abbie Glaser!

I’m thrilled to share my love for teaching and education with you! As a military kid, I moved around often, but I’ve found a home in Bulverde, TX, where I’m proud to teach at Bill Brown School. • Played Division 1 lacrosse at Butler, learning teamwork, leadership, and perseverance

  • Currently coach the Smithson Valley High School Lacrosse Team

Coaching and teaching allow me to invest in the growth of young people—both academically and personally. Whether in the classroom or on the field, I strive to make learning meaningful, fun, and empowering while building strong connections with students, families, and our community.

FAQs

Here are some common questions I get about tutoring!

What age groups do I cater to?

6 to 10

I am confident in my teaching ability with first and second specifically but feel comfortable teaching kinder basic foundational skills and 3rd grade reading and writing.

How am I qualified?

I went to Butler University and studied early childhood through 6th grade general education with a minor in early childhood through 12th grade special education. I took my licensure exams and am a certified teacher in the state of Indiana and Texas.

Can tutoring sessions be arranged online?

Unfortunately, I do not currently offer any online tutoring. I feel that learning should be hands on with books in your hand, manipulatives being used for math, and this can only be done when you are face to face.

How do I track the progress of a student?

Tracking data is extremely important to see a student's progress, I believe that students should leave my environment with concrete evidence of their improvement on the skills that they were interested in improving.

What is the typical frequency of tutoring sessions?

I recommend twice per week for the first 4 weeks. That will provide an opportunity to teach and assess the desired skills and review the findings to see if further tutoring will be needed to close the learning gaps.

What makes me different from other tutoring services?

I take a personalized, results-driven approach to tutoring, focusing on each student's unique learning style and goals. My sessions are engaging, supportive, and designed to build confidence while improving academic performance. I go beyond just teaching—I mentor, motivate, and help students develop the skills they need to succeed long-term.

Is there a fee for rescheduling a session?

Yes, to ensure fairness and accommodate all students, a $30 rescheduling fee applies due to our high demand and limited availability. We appreciate your understanding and advance notice whenever possible.
